Why I’m Running

My campaign is born of love, legacy, and justice.

The death of my father in 2016 from kidney cancer and the heartbreaking losses of loved ones across our community revealed a tragic pattern systemic neglect rooted in environmental injustice. In 2022 I learned that since 1994, KDHE had known about a toxic TCE plume contaminating our groundwater and vapors entering through our heating and air conditioning system. Ground water and our well water was toxic and our community was never warned.  As President of the Northeast Millair Neighborhood Association, I led the charge and demanded accountability from local, state, and county officials.  They all said they knew nothing about it.   Today I’m on the advisory board guiding millions in cleanup funds that were legislatively intended for the screening for the resident's impacted by the 29th and Grove contamination.  These types of hidden actions MUST stop!

I’m running now to ensure this never happens again and that District 1's voice is finally heard not just on this issue, but all issues concerning the residents of the District 1 Community.
